April 2019: X-Grant Projects Advance to Next Step

Colleagues,

One Health Science Center faculty-led team has been invited to submit a final proposal to the university  X-Grants competition. As part of the President's Excellence Fund, this interdisciplinary program brings faculty together across disciplines to unlock creative and imaginative ideas that will significantly impact the most important challenges facing global society.

Marcia Ory, PhD, MPH, associate vice president of strategic partnerships and initiatives, Health Science Center, chair of Opioid Task Force, associate dean of research and Regents and Distinguished Professor, School of Public Health, is leading a project titled, “Understanding, Predicting and Preventing Opioid Misuse through Innovative Technologies and Care Mode.”

And congratulations as well to the many other Health Science Center faculty members who are serving as co-leaders or members of the other proposals advancing in the competition. For a complete list, please visit the Health Science Center X-Grants page.

Dr. Ory and her team will present their proposal at a public forum on April 25 in Rudder Tower, room 601. I hope many of you will be able to attend.

Thank you,
Carrie L. Byington, MD
