Michele Garant, DO

Dr. Garant is a board-certified doctor of osteopathic medicine, or DO, with more than 20 years of experience in gynecology and both high and low risk obstetrics. She graduated medical school from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA, and completed her residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and Riverside County Regional Medical Center. She practiced for two years in Ventura, CA, and moved to College Station in 2004. She and her family have lived in Aggieland since then.

Dr. Garant is a valued physician leader who has served on several committees, including the College Station Medical CenterBoard of Trustees and Medical Executive Committee. At the College Station Medical Center, was the director of Women’s Services and served as chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology for several years. She enjoys educating and supporting fellow medical professionals and providing compassionate care to all patients.

Dr. Garant is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Osteopathic Association, the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Medical Liability Trust and the Brazos Valley Medical Society.

Her husband, Michael Smotherman, is a full professor at Texas A&M University teaching neurophysiology and conducting research with bats and echolocation. They have two children, Nick and Sophia.
