Medical Sciences Library

The Medical Sciences Library (MSL), located on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station, serves as the primary library for the Texas A&M University Health Science Center. Satellite MSL libraries support the Bryan, Kingsville and Round Rock campuses. Students, faculty and staff may:

  • Access thousands of e-journals and e-books
  • Review best available clinical evidence at the point of care (DynaMed, Epocrates, and more)
  • Request articles and books for free with the “Get It For Me” service
  • Leverage the specialized skills of MSL Faculty Librarians for literature searches, in-classroom or small group instruction in database search best practices and critical appraisal of research, online collaboration, information management, or literature review guidance.

Academic Support Services

The Office of Academic Support Services is the primary study facility for students in the College of Medicine. Located on the Bryan campus, academic support staff help students study for lectures, quizzes, exams and the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam.

There are 2,500 items available to checkout and reserve, computers with medical education programs, computer labs, SMART-board-equipped study rooms, individual and group study rooms, trainings for computer programs and educational software, and assistance with residency preparation and multimedia production.

Sterling C. Evans Library

Evans Library is centrally located on the main campus of Texas A&M University. All Texas A&M Health Science Center students can access online resources from Evans Library. The library is home to resources such as the University Writing Center, Map and GIS collection as well as Media and Reserves.

Additionally, Media and Reserves has multimedia resources and allows students to check out movies, music and equipment — including headphones, laptops, and calculators.

TexShare Card Program

Texas A&M University Libraries participate in TexShare, a cooperative program designed to improve library service to Texans. A TexShare card provides patrons with borrowing privileges from more than 500 participating libraries across the state, offering a broader range of materials and services than any single library can provide. TexShare focuses on the efficient sharing of library holdings, with an emphasis on electronic information resources and traditional collections of books and journals.
