Inguinal Hernia Repair
How is an inguinal hernia repaired?
An inguinal hernia is a bulge that occurs in your groin region. To repair it, a single long incision is made in the groin. If the hernia is bulging out of the abdominal wall (a direct hernia), the bulge is gently pushed back into place. If the hernia is going down the inguinal canal (indirect), the hernia may either be pushed back into place or tied off and removed.
