Evleen M. Nasir
Biography
Dr. Nasir received her Bachelor of Arts in English/Theatre and Master of Arts in Performance Studies from Texas A&M University in 2009, and 2012, respectively. In 2018, she earned her Doctorate of Philosophy in Theatre from Louisiana State University. Her dissertation, “Labor and Delivery: Television Performances by Pregnant Actress From 1948-2016”, was awarded both the Louisiana State University Dissertation Fellowship and the Ann Veronica Simon Outstanding Gender Studies Dissertation Award. She has lectured on theatre and performance both at Louisiana State University and Texas A&M University and worked as a Standardized Patient for the TAMU CLRC before becoming a Standardized Patient Educator and then transitioning to her current role as Standardized Patient Program Manager. During her free time, Evleen loves to read, tap dance, and direct theatre. She believes that medical simulation is a vital performance tool that allows healthcare students to develop crucial empathetic communication skills and build trust-based relationships between healthcare providers and their patients.
