About Elias Kontogiorgos

Elias Kontogiorgos, DDS, PhD, is the director of implant dentistry in the Department of Restorative Sciences at the Texas A&M College of Dentistry. His research focuses on bone response to trauma, surgery and biomaterials. He also researches the field of prosthodontics and tissue regeneration via distraction osteogenesis and its effects on the craniofacial skeleton.

Dr. Kontogiorgos received his DDS from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Dentistry in Greece, and his doctorate degree from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M College of Dentistry. He also received the certificate in the dental specialty of prosthodontics from Texas A&M College of Dentistry.
