Disaster Week 2020

About Disaster Week 2020

The 2nd Annual Disaster Management Symposium is scheduled for Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at the Annenburg Conference Center located at the George Bush Library and Museum. The symposium will kick off with a poster presentation.

Following the poster presentations, the Chief of the Texas Division of Emergency Management and TAMUS Vice Chancellor for Disaster and Emergency Services, Mr. W. Nim Kidd, will provide a keynote address highlighting the importance of disaster education opportunities for students. Guests from the Federal Agency for Technical Relief Operations in Germany will partner with Texas A&M faculty and students to provide a comparative overview of international disaster response systems and recent cooperation on a multi-national project as part of a student practicum experience.

The culminating event will be a panel discussion facilitated by W. Nim Kidd featuring disaster researchers, practitioners, and educators covering different perspectives on how to prepare the next generation of disaster planners and responders.
