Estella Voon

Biography

Estela began as a Standardized Patient (SP) in February 2024 and became a Physical Examination Teaching Associate (PETA) in August 2024. Through these roles, she gained valuable insights into program expectations and student learning needs.

As a SP, she engaged with learners in realistic clinical encounters, offering feedback and helping them understand the patient perspective. As a PETA, Estela taught learners proper examination techniques, emphasizing correct procedures and what to expect when interacting with patients.

Now, as a Simulation Coordinator, she manages the logistical aspects of the program, including scheduling, organizing events, and providing educational resources to enhance the learners’ experience.
Estela plans to further develop her expertise by attending workshops and pursuing certifications through ASPE, SSH, SPOT, and other healthcare simulation organizations.
