Shannon Scandozza
Biography
Shannon graduated from Tarleton State University in 2015 with a BS in Psychology. Since 2008, she has worked in education and social work; specializing in serving students in low SES populations. In 2016, she began her higher education career working with Texas A&M University (TAMU) medical students through Baylor Scott and White at our Temple campus location as a Standardized Patient Educator. In September 2017, she transitioned to our Round Rock campus serving both medical and nursing students. In October 2019, she was promoted to SP Program Manager and continued her efforts to provide support and direction for the SP Program at all five campus locations. In July 2020, she received exemplary recognition and was promoted to Assistant Director of our Houston campus. She has previously served on the Association of Standardized Patient Educators (ASPE) Online Learning and Resource Committee (formerly ERC) as a sub-chair, and was nominated for the ASPE 2019 Emerging Leader Award. Working in clinical simulation is her passion, being part of an exceptional team is her greatest desire, and helping produce high quality, communication and empathy-driven doctors and nurses is her greatest reward. The best things in her life are: her amazing husband, her three-feline fur-babies, her family (both work and home), and each moment that she gets to spend with and cherish them all.
